The Gibbs Pencil Popper the classic yellow & red. A go to lure when you need extra coverage. The most effective retriever: point the rod tip at the plug and induce some rapid up-and-down tip action - not violently but steady, at the same time reel slowly to make plug dance from side to side on the surface.

Gibbs Pencil Popper white with spirkles. I like spirkles! A go to lure when you need extra coverage. The most effective retriever: point the rod tip at the plug and induce some rapid up-and-down tip action - not violently but steady, at the same time reel slowly to make plug dance from side to side on the surface.
rainbow
The Jumpin’ Minnow might be the easiest lures you can use! The bone color works the best but some guys love this rainbow colored version. Just retrive so that it makes a and now and  the lunker-enticing “walk-the-dog” action and then tap now and then.
pocket
An Al Gal's Pocket rocket Custom Lure. This little guy worked very well this spring and I think if I had gotten the green colored version I might have done better; this thing worked great when the sand eels where around? This lures mimics a needle noise lure and is slowly jerked threw the water to attract fish. The key is not should like the other lures but the color and big fat feather on the back.
algag
This is the smallest verison of a Danny Surface swimmer i could find at Surfland. the bigger Danny swimmer just do not work as well as on Crane's but yellow does.
mambo
Gags Grabber Mambo Minnows are the perfect shallow swimmer.  It has a very realistic swimming motion combined with a superb shinny finish that attracts fish in even slow conditions. There are other versions of this lure but it’s the cheapest and best of the bunch.
storm
These hand-poured PVC soft-plastic swim baits ar. There is a  buried lead head in side these lures and make them great for fishing year round. Me I use them in the spring to see if the fish have shown up. They give off a holographic flash that matches the natural color of most bait fish. It a good lure to use when there are not many fish around.
mambo
Bomber Long A minnow lures produce the same action whether fished with a slow retrieve on top. I like the yellow Bomber just because it has caught fish on the beach and that yellow is always a good color year round.
mambo
Bomber A-Salt Purple/Black for the night fishermen in you! This is a goto lure at night.. Just retrieve very slowly and let it do its thing? you can see what its doing anyway so why try?

Stan Gibbs Popper 1 1/8oz comes in bunch of sizes but for Crane's Beach it is best to stick with the smaller size.
gibbs
All time favorite for for a lot of fishermen world wide. It comes in a few size rangingfrom 1 1/2 inch to 3 1/2 inch but for Crane's Beach stick with the smaller sizes.

I have tried a few was to carry my lures down Crane’s Beach over the year. Clear plastic boxes, tins and boxes of all shapes and sizes. Over the years you can imagine I have collected quite the collection of storage containers. Yet the best has been the simple plastic tube? There are few kinds but the harder plastic tubs hold up the best. I get the above tubs at Surfland on Plum Island. I recommend that you cut a hole in the top and bottom so that condensation does not build up and rust you lures.
